Mariellas Traum von der großen Liebe in Italien ist geplatzt. Als sie kurz darauf zurück nach Deutschland will, erreicht sie überraschend das Testament ihrer italienischen Großmutter. Mariella soll das alte Bistro ihrer Oma in der Toskana erben. Sie träumt von Cappuccino, Limoncello, Aperol Spritz und leckeren Antipasti in ihrem eigenen Bistro und reist in den idyllischen Ort ihrer Kindheit. Doch dort ist der Start für Mariella mehr als holprig. Und auch mit den Stolpersteinen, die ihr manche Dorfbewohner vor die Füße werfen, hat sie nicht gerechnet.
